ACADEMIC

2005
– He obtained a PhD degree in “Institutions and societies of contemporary Europe” from the Political Science Faculty (University of Milan). In his PhD thesis (Forme della propaganda e limiti del consenso nel Portogallo salazarista [Forms of propaganda and limits of consensus in Salazarist Portugal]), he wished to highlight the implications of propaganda for the consensus formation and consolidation processes during the dictatorship of Oliveira Salazar in the peak years of authoritarian regimes. This type of approach implied analysing two levels of legitimation of the New State (“Estado Novo”) in its different stages: transition, consolidation and crisis. Finally, those analyses were compared with the same stages of the Italian Fascist regime.

2002 - 2003 - He was a scholarship holder at the Political Science Faculty of the “Statale” University of Milan.

2001-2005 - He was a collaborator in the chair of Contemporary History at the Political Science Faculty of the “Statale” University of Milan.

2000 - He obtained a Licentiate Degree in Contemporary History from the Political Science Faculty with a 110/110 mark. The title of the Licentiate thesis was: Salazarism: ideology and propaganda.
